The work on the tower stonework has now been completed. After a shorty break the work on the stone floors will start.

The work on the tower stonework is going well and it is expected to be complete by the end of November. The stone floors will be started in the New Year, and should be complete by the end of March at the latest.

The Stone Floors
The work is being carried out by Steve Todd Stonemasons and is expected to be completed by the end of the year. The church will be useable for most of time, but the floor work might involve some restrictions on use. The estimated cost of the work is £88,000 for the Tower and £46,000 for the Stone Floors; a total of £134,000.
The National Churches Trust has awarded Melchbourne £40,000 to help pay for our Tower and Flooring projects. With the prospect of being able to recover VAT on the works, we have sufficient funds to proceed with the next phase of the work.
Being a Friend of Melchbourne Church is for anybody who is interested in supporting the maintenance of the church building and churchyard in Melchbourne. This is through financial donations and/or practical support (e.g. gardening, cleaning etc.). The Friends operates on a non-religious basis and is open to people of any faith or none. It is accepted that The Friends supports the Church of England in its use of the church.

To maintain the church requires both time and money. We are actively seeking volunteers who can help in any way so please get in touch to support this important shared community asset.
